The role
We are building the connective tissue of Soldo’s product ecosystem — and we need someone who lives and breathes API integration. As a Technical Integration Analyst (SAP Concur Specialist), your mission is to engineer seamless, scalable data connectivity between Soldo and the finance and expense platforms our customers depend on every day.
You will be the critical link between business requirements and technical reality: leading hands-on API discovery, designing integration architectures, and translating complex data flows into clear, actionable language for both engineers and non-technical stakeholders. This is not a configuration role. We are looking for an integration-first thinker who can interrogate an API, diagnose a broken webhook, and then explain the root cause to a Finance Director in plain English — all before lunch.
Responsibilities
Technical Discovery & API Analysis
- Lead structured technical discovery sessions with customers and integration partners to map data flows, identify system boundaries, and surface integration requirements.
- Interrogate REST API documentation — mapping endpoints, authentication flows (OAuth 2.0, API keys, SAML), request/response schemas, and rate limits — to produce precise integration blueprints.
- Prototype and validate API calls using Postman or equivalent tooling; document findings in a clear, reproducible format for engineering handoff.
- Evaluate and challenge integration proposals from internal teams and external vendors, providing technically grounded feasibility assessments.
Integration Design & Lifecycle Management
- Own the end-to-end integration lifecycle from initial scoping through go-live: requirements capture, solution design, build oversight, UAT, and post-launch monitoring.
- Design integration patterns and reusable frameworks that can be standardised across markets, products, and partner ecosystems — turning one-off solutions into scalable assets.
- Configure and manage middleware and iPaaS platforms (Workato, Dell Boomi, or MuleSoft) to orchestrate data flows between Soldo, SAP Concur, and connected enterprise systems.
- Define and maintain integration runbooks, data dictionaries, and API mapping documentation to the highest quality standard.
Stakeholder Engagement & Technical Translation
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers, system integrators, and technology vendors throughout the integration engagement.
- Translate complex API behaviours, data transformation logic, and error states into clear, jargon-free language for non-technical audiences including Finance teams, Procurement leads, and C-suite sponsors.
- Collaborate closely with Soldo’s engineering and product teams to ensure integration designs are aligned with platform architecture and long-term product direction.
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment across product, engineering, sales, and customer success to remove blockers and keep integrations on track.
We are looking for someone who must have
API & Connectivity — Essential
- Hands-on proficiency with REST APIs: you can read API documentation, construct requests from scratch, and troubleshoot authentication and payload errors independently.
- Strong command of OAuth 2.0, API key management, and token-based authentication — you understand the flows, not just the settings.
- Proficiency with Postman (or equivalent) for API testing, collection management, and environment-based configuration.
- Working knowledge of JSON and XML: ability to read, write, and transform data structures without assistance.
- Experience with webhooks and event-driven integration patterns, including payload validation and error-handling strategies.
- Familiarity with at least one iPaaS / middleware platform: Workato, Dell Boomi, MuleSoft, or similar.
SAP Concur Ecosystem — Essential
- Solid understanding of SAP Concur’s core modules: Expense, Invoice, and Travel — with a focus on how data flows in and out, not just UI navigation.
- Experience with Concur’s API suite, including the Extract, Expense Report, and List APIs; familiarity with the Concur connector ecosystem is a strong plus.
- Ability to map Concur data models to external system schemas, handling field-level transformations and business logic.
Enterprise Systems & Data Fluency — Essential
- Familiarity with major Accounting and ERP platforms (Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP S/4HANA, Sage) and how they consume or expose integration endpoints.
- Understanding of enterprise data flows: how financial transactions, cost centres, approval chains, and reporting hierarchies move between systems.
- Experience reading and producing integration design documents, API specifications, and data mapping artefacts.
It would be nice if you have
- Basic scripting ability in Python or JavaScript for data transformation, API testing automation, or log analysis.
- Exposure to Procurement platforms (SAP Ariba, Coupa) or Travel & Expense systems beyond Concur.
- Experience with API gateway tooling, monitoring platforms (e.g. Datadog, Splunk), or ITSM integration patterns.
