The role

The candidate plays a key role in covering the best practices regarding Database management in a Cloud environment, focusing on data scalability, performance and availability.
He will work closely with agile development teams, assist developers in designing and tuning databases and queries (Liquibase, Hibernate, SQL) and provide database analysis and design recommendations.
We are looking for someone who has strong experience in Database administration, recovery and tuning.
The candidate will be responsible for providing the best practices to the development team when dealing with the database.

We're looking for someone who must have

  • Good technical knowledge on Mysql (Server version 5.7 or higher), in administration, maintenance, tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Good skills in the use of database managers such as Toad or MySQL workbench.
  • Good knowledge of Postgreql will be a plus.
  • Experience on ETL procedure implementations is welcome.
  • Database installation and configuration.
  • Database Monitoring and tuning activities.
  • Database Backup and Restore.
  • Installation and configuration of Database replicas and clusters.
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux operating systems, in particular RHEL / CentOS / Ubuntu Server,
  • Complete control of the required tools to execute these tasks (SQL, Powershell, Bash).
  • Minimum skills on Cloud AWS, Azure, Kubernetes / Containers and VMware are welcome.
  • Knowledge of the following databases is also appreciated: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, CouchDB and Redis.
  • Knowledge of coding and languages such as Python will be considered a plus.
