  • 60 days’ work anywhere, even outside the UK if you want
  • 25 days off a year, plus public holidays as well as Christmas Eve and New Years' Eve, 2 volunteering days and an extra day off on your birthday
  • Genuine career development opportunities, including our mentoring scheme, your own annual £500 learning budget

The Role

We’re looking for a Lead Content Designer to join our Product Design team. This is a pivotal role where you’ll shape critical experiences in our platform, influence product strategy, and raise the bar for content design across the business. You’ll partner closely with PMs, Engineers, Product Designers, Researchers, Brand, and Compliance to deliver language that makes complex finance workflows feel simple, accurate, and trustworthy. This isn’t a role where you just write the words—you’ll help shape how the product works, reads, and solve real-world problems for finance teams and employees.
Responsibilities:
  • Design for understanding: turn user research and business requirements into clear UI copy, content patterns, and interaction flows that remove friction and build trust in Soldo’s product
  • Craft multi-channel stories: create and maintain consistent messaging across product screens and emails in partnership with Product Design and Product Management; ensure sales collateral reflects this Product language by partnering closely with Marketing, Brand and Customer Success.
  • Establish content standards: define and document voice-and-tone guidelines, readability targets, terminology libraries, and localisation rules that scale with new features and markets.
  • Prototype & test: rapidly iterate on words, diagrams, and micro-interactions; plan and run A/B or moderated tests to validate choices and measure comprehension.
  • Champion accessibility: ensure every touchpoint meets or exceeds WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines for language, hierarchy, and structure.
  • Mentor & influence: promote content-first thinking across teams, providing feedback and training that raise the overall quality of product communication.
We're looking for someone who has:
  • Solid proven experience designing content for digital products or complex B2B services, ideally SaaS or fintech.
  • Fluency in the language of finance: confident using and simplifying accounting, payments, and spend-management terminology (e.g. GL codes, prepaid vs. accrual, reconciliation, VAT/GST, budgets & forecasting) so finance teams immediately “get it.”
  • Domain knowledge of finance workflows: familiarity with month-end close, expense reconciliation, and compliance processes; able to speak the same language as controllers, AP managers, and CFOs.
  • Portfolio that shows how your content and IA decisions solved user problems and delivered measurable outcomes—bonus points for examples targeting finance audiences.
  • Research literacy: comfortable planning, conducting, and synthesising interviews, analytics, or usability studies, especially with finance stakeholders.
  • Systems thinking: ability to build and maintain content models, taxonomies, and glossaries that keep financial terminology consistent across locales.
  • Tool-agnostic craft: confident in Figma, FigJam, and quick, low-fidelity prototyping.
  • Plain-language advocate: impeccable written English; additional European languages (i.e. Italian) are a plus.
