The role

The position of the Compliance Lead, based in Dublin, will be appointed PCF 12 according to CBI Fitness and Probity Regulations, and will report to the Board of Directors. The position will also report into the Head of Risk & Compliance (PCF 14)

As Compliance Lead, the person will ensure that Soldo continues to promote a culture of compliance by ensuring that our risk management and regulatory compliance programs are in line with regulatory requirements and supervisory expectations which includes ensuring there is an adequate training program across the organisation. The person will also be responsible for horizon scanning of regulation where the company operates, in particular Ireland and the rest of Europe as the company expands.

The successful candidate will ensure that daily compliance risk management and regulatory reporting, including metrics, trend analysis, and recommendations are in place. In carrying out this role, the person will engage with external stakeholders, including Regulators, and will work collaboratively and act as a point of contact for advice with many internal teams across the business, including AML/CFT, Legal, Operations, customer interaction and technology & IT platform teams. The person will also ensure consistency of approach and standards for compliance across SFS Dac and SFS Ltd (UK) while being fully compliant with both jurisdictions’ requirements.

We're looking for someone who must have:

  • Proven experience working as a senior risk and compliance professional in the financial services industry, preferably in fintech/payments and with EU-wide scope
  • Experience and understanding of payments, e-money or wallet products / services and banking functions.
  • A deep understanding of the regulatory compliance issues that a company like Soldo faces
  • A history of maintaining the appropriate Fitness and Probity Standards as defined by the Central Bank of Ireland
  • A proven ability to build strong working relationships with industry counterparts, regulators, partners, and at board level
  • Strong leadership skills and an ability to create a culture of compliance by design across the organization.
  • Effective team player
  • An ability to find solutions to complex and hard problems and ability to turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into solid action plans
  • Excellent communication skills including an ability to convey a compelling vision for compliance and risk
  • A strong motivation to progress and learn.
  • Italian language knowledge would be a significant plus
