The Strategic Sourcing Director will be responsible for building and leading a new function that will source, analyze, propose purchasing strategies, and own the output of its business unit. The Director will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the company's purchasing strategy is aligned with business goals and priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
-Build and lead a new strategic sourcing function that sources, analyzes, and proposes purchasing strategies for the business unit.
-Develop and implement sourcing strategies that optimize costs, quality, and delivery times to meet platform’s current and future demand.
-Analyze market trends and pricing data to identify opportunities and make recommendations to senior management.
-Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, contracts, and pricing.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure sourcing strategies are aligned with business goals and priorities.
-Develop and maintain procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices.
-Monitor supplier performance and proactively address issues to ensure on-time delivery and quality standards are met.
-Establish and maintain KPIs and metrics to track the performance of the strategic sourcing function and regularly report progress to senior management.
-Starting your own team, initially you are expected to create your own department hands-on and on your own.
-Expect to directly manage a team in the future.
-This role is expected to report into the London office at least twice a week.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Master degree is a plus.
-7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a B2B e-commerce environment.
-Experience within the Health and Beauty category of e-commerce.
-Proven track record of building and leading a strategic sourcing function from scratch.
-Experience negotiating with suppliers and driving cost savings and accessing strategic deals.
-Strong analytical skills and experience analyzing data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
-Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
-Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
-Experience with e-procurement systems and other procurement-related software is a plus.
-Ability to travel as needed.
