As a Publisher Business Development Director, you will prospect, acquire and grow relationships with strategic publishers within the fast paced and ever growing video landscape. Understanding the Minute Media technology and sales differentiation will be the key to success against the competition.
What You'll Do:
- Drive revenue from publisher partners to meet and exceed sales goals.
- Contribute to Minute Media’s publisher development strategies.
- Build relationships across publisher organizations (executives, sales teams, ad ops, research).
- Track and manage publisher acquisition pipeline and account activities.
- Work closely with internal teams on sales strategy, techniques and execution.
- Interface with Minute Media Account Management team to transition new Publishers to the post-sales team.
- Manage all facets of the sales process from pre-sale to close, including ongoing sales consultation.
- Contribute to publisher retention and relationship management, in addition to Account Management, with the goal of ensuring high publisher satisfaction.
- Where required, be able to present Minute Media’s offering in front of key decision makers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- Experience working at an ad serving technology company, an ad network and/or large media company
- Strong knowledge of Internet advertising models, ad optimization, audience trends and technologies
- Strong analytical ability and experience with CPM models
- Strong negotiation skills and strategic mindset
- Knowledge of the pre and post sales process
- Existing relationships with large premium publishers (highly desirable)
- Drive new publisher business for our online video platform, including all phases of the BD cycle which include: researching, prospecting, pitching, negotiating and ultimately closing partnership deals with publishers globally
- Develop a cohesive business development strategy and approach. Report on all direct business development activities.
- Improve and follow processes that grow the pipeline of opportunities.
- Manage pipeline from lead generation to closing new publishers, including working with existing opportunities and new accounts you have researched and prospected
- Utilize all Minute Media internal tools, including SalesForce, to properly reporting, track and maximize ROI on publisher closing rate
- Work closely with multiple internal groups including marketing, legal, technology teams to improve new publisher acquisition strategy.
The expected range for this position is between $200,000 and $220,000. This position is also eligible for performance-based compensation. Actual pay will be determined based on skills, experience, and location.
