Location:

Even though our company operates exclusively on a remote basis, you are required to reside in and have legal work eligibility within one of the specified countries: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Ukraine, United Kingdom.

About:

Lokalise is looking for a Platform Engineering Manager to join our Product, Design, Data, and Engineering organization and help drive the success of our products by leading our platform team, which is responsible for providing a scalable and reliable infrastructure where our product teams build, deploy and run their services.

You Will:

  • Lead a seasoned team of Platform engineers, guiding their career development, managing performance, and providing effective feedback.

  • Championing a culture of engineering excellence by optimizing processes for efficiency and effectiveness. Implement best practices in process management and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Participate in the recruitment as hiring manager and onboarding processes to assemble a top-tier platform engineering team.

  • Empower team engineers by setting a strategic vision, challenging architectural decisions, and guiding the direction of platform architecture to ensure excellence in execution and delivery in alignment with company goals and standards.

  • Create quarterly delivery plans and track timelines. Ensure efficient execution and communication with stakeholders.

  • Foster collaboration and alignment between the Product and Engineering teams to realize business goals and drive deliverables.

  • Act as incident commander on incident management and on-call to maintain platform integrity and reliability while improving its processes.

  • Actively engage in strategic relationships with key vendors and service providers, such as cloud infrastructure platforms, to negotiate beneficial agreements, ensure uninterrupted services, and leverage their offerings to optimize our technology stack.

You Must Have:

  • 3+ years experience as a Manager of Platform/SRE teams at large-scale product companies.

  • Prior experience as an SRE/DevOps/Platform/Cloud Engineer

  • A people-centric approach with a track record of maximizing team and individual potential through hiring, coaching, and mentoring.

  • Proficiency in conflict resolution, negotiation, and building strong interpersonal relationships across all levels of the organization.

  • Experience with agile development methodologies, such as Kanban.

  • Strong skills in roadmap planning, execution, and measuring engineering excellence through key metrics and KPIs.

  • A proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.

  • Experience with AWS cloud services and related technologies.

  • Experience with incident management and on-call responsibilities.

  • Familiar with delivering infrastructure as code using and running containers and Kubernetes in production.

It Will Be Considered a Significant Advantage If You Have:

  • Certification in Kubernetes, AWS, or related cloud technologies.

  • Experience with other Cloud Services such as GCP and Azure.

  • Experience in modern monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus and Graylog.

  • Experience in managing fully remote teams.

  • Work experience in the Localization industry
