Overview of the role

As Subcontractor Manager at Garrison you will play a key role in coordinating the manufacture of innovative and interesting electronics products, acting as the primary point of contact with our manufacturing subcontractors to ensure our systems are built efficiently, and on schedule. You will also help ensure that our suppliers comply with our quality and security requirements by managing audit activities.

Prior experience in manufacturing or the electronics industry is not essential. As an ideal candidate you will be highly organised, numerate, a fast learner and a great communicator.

Garrison has a challenging, supportive and fast-moving working environment with a huge opportunity to learn, develop new skills and set out on a range of career paths.

Key responsibilities

The main areas you’ll be focusing on in the role are as follows:

  • Managing relationships with current manufacturing sub-contractors
  • Maintaining sub-contractor action logs to ensure commercial and technical requests are correctly prioritised and actioned
  • Evaluating quotes received from the supply chain
  • Managing and documenting quality and security audits of sub-contractors
  • Ensuring secondary suppliers support primary subcontractors (with pricing, lead time and quality)
  • Creating and managing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Managing sub-contractor excess stock levels
  • Supporting the evaluation of new sub-contractors
  • Supporting the team in identifying gaps in processes and skills to allow Garrison’s supply chain to grow with the company
  • Recognising the industry that Garrison operates in, and appreciating the importance of following Garrison's information security policies.

Skills and experience

You’ll be perfect for the role if you:

  • Are highly organised with great interpersonal skills
  • Are confident managing multi-threaded plans
  • Have an eye for detail and you’re good with numbers
  • Are skilled in capturing, tracking and reporting progress of activities
  • Are willing to dig into complex issues, working with colleagues from across the business to ensure a full understanding
  • Happy to think outside the box to deliver Garrison’s products to the timescales and quality level we require

And experience in these areas would be a bonus (but don’t worry if you’ve not covered these!)
