We’re looking for a Product Designer to join the Flatpay POS team, the group responsible for the tools that power our merchants’ daily business. From bustling cafés and busy restaurants to independent retailers across Europe, the POS experience is at the heart of how our customers sell, serve, and grow.
The POS team designs and builds the software that drives in-person sales, connects seamlessly with our payment terminals, and powers the Flatpay Portal—where merchants manage their products, teams, and sales data with confidence. You’ll join a small, collaborative, and growing design team with a high bar for craft and usability. Here, design plays a central role in defining what gets built, not just how it looks. You’ll work side-by-side with PMs, engineers, and product specialists to shape elegant, customer-informed solutions that remove friction from merchants’ daily work and make complex tasks feel effortless.

As a product designer, you’ll own meaningful projects from concept to launch, balancing hands-on design execution with broader problem-solving and customer insights. You’ll also have opportunities to learn from experienced design leaders, contribute to our design system, and influence how we design at scale across multiple products and markets.

WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE EXCITING

• You’ll travel internationally to meet our diverse merchants, design across different markets, and test your solutions in real-world environments.
• You’ll help shape how design is practiced at Flatpay—our systems, processes, and standards—as part of a fast-growing team.
• You’ll work at the intersection of fintech, retail, and UX, designing for both usability and trust in one of Flatpay’s most strategic products.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
In your first 30 days:

• Get to know Flatpay—our people, our products, and our merchants
• Immerse yourself in the payments and POS landscape
• Explore the current POS experience and identify quick wins
• Create your first customer-centered designs using data, research, and feedback
• Work with engineers to deliver your first live designs

In your first 60 days:

• Partner with PMs and engineers in planning and ideation sessions
• Conduct user interviews and usability tests to uncover insights
• Contribute to and evolve Flatpay’s design system
• Track the success of your projects and advocate for continuous improvement

• 2-4 years of experience producing high-quality UI and UX designs for web and mobile
• A strong portfolio showing product thinking, end-to-end design work, and craft in Figma
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams with PMs and engineers
• A self-starter, eager learner, conscientious teammate, and a thoughtful, kind, supportive human
• Thoughtful communicator who balances design conviction with openness to feedback
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Experience in fintech, POS, or data-heavy products is a plus
