About Flatpay

Flatpay is an innovative Danish scale-up in the fintech universe focusing on payments. Recently, we have raised a Series B round of €45m making us one of the fastest growing start-ups. The new capital helps to support our continued growth in existing markets – namely Denmark, Finland, and Germany – along with expanding into new markets. We always set our ambitions high and the growth in Germany is no exception.

As we strive to sustain our rapid growth, two key elements are essential for maintaining a high pace of success: our team and our culture. In essence, we work to create an exceptional experience that our employees love, starting from their very first interaction.

We seek an exceptional individual who is passionate about cultivating an outstanding culture, redefining success, and transforming the complexity of a chaotic world into elegantly simple solutions.

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Head of People to establish and develop our People team in Germany, supporting our growth from 100 to 600 FTEs.

The newly established People team is crucial in supporting our employees and ensuring they have a seamless experience every day. From onboarding processes to coaching, engagement, developing managers, and offboarding. We aim for the candidate to build a people-centric and value-adding partnership within our teams.

The role involves building up the German People function with A-Z processes, including recruitment, onboarding, talent management, payroll, and offboarding. Additionally, you will support our various leaders in getting the best out of their teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build up the People organization to support our growth towards 600 FTEs.
  • Continuously enhance onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure extraordinary experiences.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to managers by offering expert advice, guidance, and coaching to managers on all People-related matters.
  • Proactively spotting people-related issues and trends within the business by collaborating with key stakeholders to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Guide performance management discussions and oversee disciplinary procedures within various teams.
  • Create and refine top-tier HR policies and procedures.

About You

  • Proven background in building and leading HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, talent management, payroll, and offboarding, ideally in a scale-up.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • A ‘hands-on do-er’ with full ownership, executing the plan to deliver in partnership with senior managers.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and act as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees alike.
  • Fluent in German and English.
