About the role
In your role as a Localization Intern within our Customer Team, your main duties will include supporting the localization team in achieving task completion within designated deadlines. Your responsibilities encompass translating content into your native language and participating in proofreading activities. Moreover, you will be involved in project management duties, which include managing the logistics and collaboration with external freelance contributors.
- Localization and Translation Support: Assist in translating and localizing all types of materials into your native mother tongue, ensuring cultural appropriateness and accuracy.
- Coordination of Localization Projects: Help coordinate the localization workflow, including managing translation memories, glossaries, and localization tools. Work closely with external translation vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and quality deliverables.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance (QA) processes for localized content, including proofreading, editing, and functional testing to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of localized products and campaigns.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing, product, and design teams to ensure cohesive and culturally relevant messaging across all platforms. Provide logistical support for the launch of localized products and campaigns.
- Project Management: Support in finalizing translation tasks end-to-end.
- Learning and Development: Continuously learn about localization industry standards, tools, and best practices. Participate in internal training sessions to enhance your localization skills.
What you will bring
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Translation, Linguistics, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Previous involvement in translation or localization projects, either through coursework, internships, or volunteer work, is highly desirable.
- Experience with or a willingness to learn localization platforms and tools. Prior exposure to software development processes or content creation tools is a plus.
- An excellent level of English, knowledge of other European languages (especially French, German, and Dutch) would be an asset.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to handle different phases of multiple project simultaneously.
- Detail oriented and organized.
