Reporting to the VP of Product Design, the Director of UX will lead a team of 6 Product Designers, all based in EU time zones, and will play a pivotal role in defining and managing UX processes within Collibra. The team is responsible for UX design across the entire Collibra product line, ensuring user-centric experiences that align with business goals.
The Director of UX at Collibra is responsible for
- Communicating and evangelizing the UX vision and strategy across the UX team and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate UX into the product development process.
- Providing leadership to the UX team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Building, mentoring, and leading a high-performing UX team, ensuring they have the skills and tools necessary to deliver successful user-facing outcomes.
- Driving the creation of user interfaces and experiences aligned with user research findings and business requirements.
- Collaborating with the Central Design System team to maintain design standards and ensure consistency across all products.
You have
- The ability to lead and manage a team effectively. This includes hiring, mentoring, and empowering UX professionals, as well as fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- The capacity to collaborate on the development of our UX vision and strategy aligned with business and team goals and effectively communicate that out to the organization.
- Strong expertise in user-centered design principles, methodologies, and research techniques. This includes conducting user research, usability testing, and interpreting data to inform design decisions.
- The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, marketing, and other stakeholders. This involves strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A deep understanding of the business goals, competitive landscape, and the impact of UX on key performance indicators. This includes the ability to make data-driven decisions and demonstrate the ROI of UX initiatives.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent related working experience is required.
- You must have work authorization to work in Prague, CZ.

- Proficient in project management principles to effectively plan, prioritize, and execute UX initiatives. This includes managing resources, timelines, and budgets.
- An excellent communicator.
- Creative, and with the mindset and ability to foster innovation within the UX team. This includes encouraging new ideas, thinking outside the box, and exploring novel approaches to solving design challenges.
- A collaborative team player.
- Detail-oriented and analytical.
Measures of success
Within your first month, you will:
- Establish team cohesion and start measuring productivity.
- Begin delivering impactful designs following UX best practices.
Within your third month, you will:
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of team challenges and priorities.
- Align the team to the defined design process and UX best practices consistently.
Within your sixth month, you will:
- Successfully develop talent within the team.
- Show improvements in user satisfaction metrics.
Compensation for this role
This position is not eligible for additional commission-based compensation. Salary offers are based on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, and location.
